Each classroom has a parent volunteer(s) that set up times with their teacher to teach art lessons during the year, there are 4 lessons total. Your children will truly enjoy having you teach their class about art and you will get to work with them in a whole new way. It’s a great and easy way to be involved!

The art lessons are already written with a script and slides are provided for you. Each lesson teaches a principle of art and features famous Artists. The Art Docents read the lesson in advance, plan an art time with the teacher, and come up with a project if they wish. The lessons are about 20 mins and the project time varies. The total timing should be customized to each class per the teacher’s request. The Art Docent Chairperson can help you find a project or if you want to modify lessons we are flexible. Art supplies are provided by the PTA and/or available in the classroom.

The classroom teacher is in the room with you to help with class management. You can also get other parents involved to help you on the day of your lesson.
